City of Poughkeepsie Man Arrested Following Investigation Into Alleged Sexual Assault of a Minor

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York — A City of Poughkeepsie man has been arrested following an investigation into the alleged sexual assault of a minor, according to the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department.

Police said members of the Detective Bureau, with assistance from the Poughkeepsie Joint SWAT Team and the Gun Involved Violence Elimination (GIVE) Detail, executed a search warrant at an apartment on Union Street at approximately 3 p.m. on June 24.

Following the investigation, detectives arrested 32-year-old Ericq Pesante of the City of Poughkeepsie.

According to police, Pesante has been charged with Disseminating Indecent Material to a Minor in the First Degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, and two counts of Rape in the Third Degree.

Authorities said Pesante is currently being held pending arraignment.
