DEKALB COUNTY GANG MEMBER SENTENCED TO 95 YEARS IN PRISON
DEKALB COUNTY, Georgia — A DeKalb County Superior Court judge has sentenced 35-year-old Darius Scott to 95 years in prison for his role in the local “Paradise East” (PDE) criminal street gang following a multi-agency investigation led by the Georgia Attorney General’s Office.
Scott, also known as “5th Ward Greedy,” was convicted on multiple charges, including violations of the Georgia Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and unlawful possession of a machine gun.
According to investigators, Scott was identified as a member of the Paradise East (PDE) gang, which originated in the Bouldercrest Road area and operates out of the Paradise East apartment complex. Authorities say the gang is affiliated with a New York City-based Bloods set and is also known by the moniker “4L.”
The investigation was conducted through a joint effort involving the Georgia Attorney General’s Office, the DeKalb County Police Department, and the Atlanta Police Department as part of a broader effort to dismantle the gang’s operations.
Officials said two other PDE members charged in the case previously pleaded guilty and received prison sentences ranging from five to 20 years.
Authorities say Scott’s sentencing marks another step in ongoing efforts to combat organized gang activity and violent crime in DeKalb County.
