ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA — Jorge Soler of the Los Angeles Angels and Reynaldo Lopez of the Atlanta Braves were ejected after a benches-clearing incident that included punches during Tuesday’s game.

The confrontation began in the fifth inning after a pitch thrown by Lopez went high and inside toward Soler. The pitch led to an exchange between the two players before the situation escalated.

Both players threw punches during the altercation, and teammates from both sides left the dugouts, leading to a brief on-field melee. The incident was eventually broken up by players, coaches, and umpires.

Soler had earlier hit a two-run home run and was also hit by a pitch in a previous at-bat.

No serious injuries were reported. Both players were removed from the game, and play resumed following the incident.
