BUFFALO POLICE INVESTIGATING AFTER VIDEO APPEARS TO SHOW DEPUTY COMMISSIONER SHOVING WOMAN
BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo Police Department has launched an investigation after a video circulating on social media appears to show Deputy Commissioner Craig Macy pushing a woman to the ground during a disturbance on Chippewa Street Saturday night.
The video shows the woman standing near Macy before he pushes her, causing her to fall.
Buffalo Police Commissioner Erika Shields said the department is reviewing the incident and gathering additional video and information as part of a thorough investigation.
“The social media video clip circulating of Deputy Commissioner Macy during the disturbances on Chippewa Street Saturday night is concerning. We are gathering additional video and information to conduct a thorough review of the incident. We will not comment further until that review is complete.”
