Cardi B Says Her Kids Are the Reason She Doesn’t Have a Home Gym

NEW YORK, NY — Cardi B says concerns about her children’s safety ultimately changed her plans for having a fully equipped gym inside her home.
The rapper responded to a user on X who questioned why she didn’t have a home gym for easier access. Cardi explained that she actually has a room designed for one, complete with mirrors and appropriate flooring, but decided against adding exercise equipment while her children are still young.
Cardi said her decision was influenced by learning about the death of boxer Mike Tyson’s 4-year-old daughter, Exodus, who died in 2009 following an accident involving a treadmill cord at the family’s home.
“I’m too paranoid and my kids do tooooooo damn much,” Cardi wrote, explaining that she plans to install the equipment once her children are older.
Cardi is the mother of four children. She shares Kulture, Wave and Blossom with Offset and welcomed her youngest son with Stefon Diggs in 2025.
The comments came around the same time Cardi celebrated Wave and Blossom, who both have September birthdays. She shared photos from a Disney-themed birthday celebration for the children on social media.
For now, Cardi says the room intended to become her home gym will remain without equipment until she feels her children are old enough for it to be safe.
