Danbury Woman Charged With Murder in Death of Newborn Found at Connecticut Recycling Facility

DANBURY, Conn. — A 28-year-old Danbury woman has been charged with murder with special circumstances in connection with the death of her newborn son nearly eight years ago.

According to prosecutors, Dominique Harrison was arraigned in Danbury Superior Court on Monday. Authorities allege Harrison left her newborn baby alive inside a dumpster in a remote area of Danbury in 2018, preventing anyone from rescuing the child.

The infant was later discovered deceased on Oct. 16, 2018, by workers at a trash and recycling facility in Stamford.

During the court hearing, prosecutors outlined the allegations and indicated that additional charges could be filed as the investigation continues.

Harrison reportedly became emotional throughout the proceeding. A judge set her bond at $2.5 million.

Court officials said the arrest warrant remains sealed because the investigation is ongoing. As a result, details regarding the evidence that led to Harrison’s arrest have not yet been made public.

Authorities have not released additional information about the case. The investigation remains active.
