Florida Man Arrested After Allegedly Leading Deputies on High-Speed RV Chase That Ended in Crash
ISSIMMEE, Florida — A Kissimmee man was arrested after authorities say he led deputies on a dangerous high-speed pursuit through Osceola County while driving an RV under the influence, striking two vehicles before crashing into a tree.
According to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, 45-year-old Louis Anthony Robles was driving a white Winnie RV on June 12 when deputies observed the vehicle swerving out of its lane and weaving through traffic on East Osceola Parkway.
Deputies initially believed Robles could have been experiencing a medical emergency because of the way the RV was being driven. However, when they attempted a traffic stop, authorities said Robles refused to stop and continued driving recklessly.
During the pursuit, deputies deployed a tire deflation device in an attempt to stop the RV, but authorities said Robles continued driving and sideswiped two vehicles, injuring the occupants before leaving both crash scenes.
The pursuit ended on Berkshire Circle when Robles crashed the RV into a tree. Authorities said he fled the crash on foot but was quickly apprehended by deputies.
Investigators determined Robles was driving under the influence. According to authorities, he also had nine prior driver’s license suspensions.
Robles was booked into the Osceola County Jail and faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges, including DUI and leaving the scene of a crash with injuries, fleeing to elude law enforcement with lights and sirens activated, driving with a revoked license as a habitual traffic offender, reckless driving, DUI property damage, resisting an officer without violence, and possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
