Hip-Hop Legends Bring Classic New York Sound to the 2026 ESPYS

NEW YORK, N.Y. — Hip-hop legends took center stage at the 2026 ESPYS, bringing a celebration of New York rap to one of sports’ biggest nights.
The ceremony featured performances from De La Soul, Slick Rick, Ghostface Killah, and Fat Joe, while legendary producer DJ Premier kept the music going throughout the evening.
De La Soul energized the crowd with performances of “Stakes Is High” and “Run It Back!!” Slick Rick followed with his iconic hit “La Di Da Di,” while Ghostface Killah performed classics including “Cherchez LaGhost” and paid tribute to the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard with “Shimmy Shimmy Ya.” Fat Joe closed out the show with “All the Way Up.”
The 2026 ESPYS marked a return to New York City, where the awards ceremony was held at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center. The event celebrated the year’s biggest achievements in sports while honoring hip-hop’s lasting influence on culture and entertainment.
