Justin Timberlake Joins Jay-Z Onstage for Surprise Appearance in Paris
PARIS, France — Justin Timberlake made a surprise appearance alongside Jay-Z during the rapper’s JAŸ-Z 30 concert at Stade de France on Thursday, bringing the longtime collaborators back together onstage during Jay-Z’s anniversary celebration.
Video circulating from the Paris concert shows Timberlake joining Jay-Z in front of the stadium crowd. The appearance came during the September 10 stop of the JAŸ-Z 30 series, which celebrates three decades since the release of Jay-Z’s landmark 1996 debut album, Reasonable Doubt.
The Paris performance at Stade de France was officially scheduled as part of Jay-Z’s anniversary concerts, following shows in New York and London. Roc Nation has described JAŸ-Z 30 as a celebration of the rapper’s three decades of music, cultural influence and career-defining hits.
Timberlake and Jay-Z have a lengthy history of collaborations, including “Suit & Tie” and “Holy Grail,” and previously toured together on the Legends of the Summer Stadium Tour in 2013.
The surprise reunion adds another high-profile guest moment to Jay-Z’s anniversary run. His recent London performances featured appearances from several artists, including Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean and Giggs.
Jay-Z’s anniversary performances are scheduled to continue in October with concerts at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
