Kyla Pratt and Flex Alexander Discuss ‘One on One’ Legacy, Say Fans Still Want a Reboot

LOS ANGELES — Actors Kyla Pratt and Flex Alexander recently reflected on the lasting impact of the hit sitcom One on One, saying they believe the series still has a strong fan base and could connect with audiences today.

During an appearance on the Girl Dad Podcast, the former co-stars discussed conversations they have had over the years about the possibility of revisiting the series.

Alexander revealed that executives have approached him on multiple occasions asking whether audiences would be interested in a reboot. Pratt said she has received similar questions.

Both agreed that fan interest remains strong.

The actors pointed to the show’s resurgence during the COVID-19 pandemic when One on One became available on Netflix. The streaming release introduced the sitcom to a younger generation of viewers who were not around for its original run from 2001 to 2006.

According to Pratt and Alexander, many of those viewers embraced the show in the same way original fans did, helping the series find new life years after leaving television.

The pair also reflected on the cultural significance of One on One, saying they did not fully realize at the time how much the show meant to Black families and viewers who saw themselves represented on screen.

With several popular television shows from the early 2000s receiving reboots in recent years, Pratt and Alexander said they understand why fans continue to ask about the future of One on One.

While no reboot has been officially announced, both actors expressed appreciation for the show’s continued popularity and the generations of viewers who continue to support it.
